Santa Ornament Box~Just the Cover

A large papier mache box is perfect for storing special ornaments. This was painted in acrylics, during a Jean Zawicki seminar at our chapter in July.
I added rubber stamping, embossing, collaged scraps and some distressing... love that vintage look, especially for Christmas.

Primitive Doll Bed & Bedding

So...he made the bed out of pine and I made the bedding... all cotton quilt & pillow, homespun covered mattress. Very hard to see the saltbox houses painted on the headboard and footboard of this little bed. It is one of several that we did, sold at craft fairs or on Ebay.

Hydrangeas on a Clock

Hydrangeas were painted on this clock by Kathy Murphy, a fellow decorative artist/teacher here on Long Island. Won this clock at the D.A.W.N. dinner & auction. Love it Kathy!

Recycled Wooden Table

I used a paper doily as a stencil for the top and lots of glitter sprays (really made for paper)... Moon Shadow Mist, etc. , a little bit of stamping.

Talk about trash to treasure! This piece was plucked from the trash in a local town, by one of my friends. She passed it to me to refurbish for auction at the D.A.W.N.'s annual dinner & auction which was on 4/2/08. Had lots of tickets.

And Of Course, Cats.....

July 26, 2006:
Many stormy days spent indoors, late nights, and many spare moments have given the opportunity for bathing in the glorious words of Lilian Jackson Braun in the "The Cat Who..." series. Yes! If one listens, i.e., Books-On-Tape, the voice of George Guidall just adds the whipped cream & cherry to the top of these 'sweet treats'.

As a folk artist, a cat has always been my all-time favorite model/subject. In the, thus far, 28 books, you'll often hear: 'illophbile' (Greek for 'cat lover').
